how do I know which one to choose between an s-curve and j-curve shoulder strap? on 05/05/2012 05:05:18 MDT Print View

I've only owned J-curve shoulder strapped packs.....how do I know if the S-curve would actually be better (or worse)? Or is that one of those try and see things.

I need to know for my ULA pack's order....

Thank you.

Mik.

My understanding is 's-curve' shoulder straps are better suited to women as they are more accommodating to a females chest. Chances are if you are a male, j-curve straps will be perfectly adequate.

I normally use the J straps - but as a skinny 165lb 6'1" guy that wears a S/M shirt I actually found the S-straps to be as comfortable as the J straps, if not more comfortable on my Circuit. BUT - most people will do just fine following the conventional J for men - S for women idea.
