Big Sky Revolution 2P Porch and Sister Tent Owners on 05/01/2012 13:38:47 MDT Print View

After being unable to find a used one, I just ordered a new Revolution 2P Porch from Bob at Big Sky. Notwithstanding the significant delivery issues of the pas,t as reported here, the Big Sky tents have such consistently good reviews that I opted to take a chance with them and Bob.

I am interested in hearing from others who have a version of this tent, or its sisters the Evolution, Convertible or Mirage, and their experiences. Honestly, I am not so interested in the past failings of the business to deliver tents as they promised. If someone wants to bash Big Sky I would kindly ask you start a thread of your own. I just really want to discuss tents.

I had A 2 person evolution. Sold it because I usually bring a solo tent. It was definitely a quality tent. Wish I didn't sell it. I found it on eBay for $100 too. They are easy to setup, lightweight and I really liked that mine had a window...similar to mountain hardwear tents. One drawback was mine didn't have the porch. Still worked fine for me and my g/f when she went. I would say they are worth the money. Never had 1 issue with mine. Also, venting was really great. All mesh tent, apex vents. I live in pa where it gets really humid so the double wall shelter with venting is a must.

Thanks on 05/02/2012 01:14:05 MDT Print View

Thanks Evan. I am lad to hear that condensation was not a large problem. I line Newfoundland and Labarador Canada and we have our share of cold night and wet days. I am getting one with the porch and the inner is now made of a breathable fabric which can be zipped back from no-see-um mesh windows as necessary.
