I’ve noticed some threads here where scouters are kicking around trip planning ideas for various locations. To help with that process, you can use Gmap4 to surf eye-popping high resolution topographic maps for the USA. For example, here is Mistymoon Lake (great name!) in the Cloud Peak Wilderness of Wyoming:

Here is a recent blog post about Gmap4 published by a scout-related website:

If you scroll down to near the bottom of that blog post then you will see links to Gmap4 maps for Philmont and the BWCA.

Here is the default map:

To find your favorite spot you can zoom and pan or click Menu ==> Search.

To see the high resolution topo maps, click the button in the upper right corner and select ‘t4 Topo High’

That's a great link, thank you! The hi-res appear to have the same info my USGS and TOPO maps have, but the terrain effect is cleaner and nicely pronounced. It scrolls well, too.
