I'm in the market for a new sleeping bag and have narrowed my choices down to the following three. Any comments are appreciated to help me make a decision. I'm looking for a temperature rating around the 20F mark, and want a light / small package of course.
With other things equal, does a 850 fill down sleeping bag pack compress more than a 800 fill down sleeping bag? If so, that would cross the MH Phantom off my list, and then the Helium would win with a lower temperature rating than the UltraLite, based soley on statistics, and as a bonus the Helium is the cheapest. Mountain Hardwear Phantom 15 1 lb 15 oz 800 fill down $430
Western Mountaineering UltraLite (20F) 1 lb 13 oz 850 fill down (can't find it on their web site) $420
marmot helium 15 2 lbs 2 oz 850 fill down $399
Thank you for any comments.
