lightweight in-pack hydration system? on 04/29/2012 17:14:06 MDT Print View

I've been using my 100 fl oz Camelbak Antidote reservoir because it's BPA free and I prefer to hydrate through a tube.

However, I also know that it weighs a 6.5 oz for the bag.

Are there any other products out there similar and BPA free, but lighter?

Platypus? on 04/29/2012 17:44:01 MDT Print View

I'm almost certain my Platypus 3L 'hoser' is lighter. I don't have it or a scale handy, but my gear spreadsheet says that the bladder, a sawyer 3-way filter, and very small carabiner weigh 8.1oz (230g) all-in.

My regular 3-liter platy weighs 4 oz. Switched to it from an old 3-liter camel because of the weight difference, though the camel is easier to fill with water.

the 3 liter Hoser is 3.8 oz- I don't think there is a lighter hydration system out there
