A couple guys (myself included) from my DC-based group are heading up to North-Central PA to do the 85-mile Susquehannock Trail System Monday, May 14 - Friday, May 18. For once, this is not meant to be a death march. We'll adhere to our mileage totals, take nice breaks when we need them, and plan on some good evenings around the campfire. Final mileage totals will be determined once I get my hands on the maps and target camp sites. We move at about 3 mph and tend to stay on the trail for most of the daylight hours. If interested and like minded, PM me to join.
Monday: depart DC around 8:00 a.m. and head north to PA, arriving at the trail head around 2:00 p.m. Begin hiking, hit the first 10 miles.
Tuesday: on the trail by 7:30 a.m., hike (with breaks) until around 5:30 p.m. This should be approximately 20 miles.
Wednesday: same schedule; on the trail hiking 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m, approximately 20 miles
Thursday: same schedule; approximately 20 miles
Friday: final 15 miles (or remainder); head home. I no longer need to be home by a certain time on Friday.
