FS Marmot "Arroyo" Down Sleeping Bag (30 deg.) on 04/19/2012 20:36:25 MDT Print View

SOLD!!!
I have for sale a Marmot "Arroyo" sleeping bag.
Fill: Down (800 or 850 fill. Can't remember for sure)
Manufacturers stated temp rating is 30 degrees F.
Manufacturers stated weight is 27 oz.- although on my digital scale it's more like 30 ounces.
Regular length
Full length right-hand double zipper.
Shoulder girth is 62"
Best guess is that it is about 5 years old. I could dig through and try to find the receipt if exact age is important to someone.

The bag is in very good condition with no rips, repairs, stains or any real signs of wear.
The one "problem" it does have is that the bottom zipper tab is missing completely and the other (upper) one might come off at any time. This is the pull tabs only and not the zippers themselves- which are fine. Personally, I just use my thumb and forefinger to zip and unzip. Who needs all that extra weight anyway right!? For those less lazy than myself, I'm sure you could get and install new pull tabs or thread some cordage through there to use as pulls.
With the full length zipper(s)this can be used more-or-less as a quilt when temps dictate, which is what I have done on numerous occasions. So many in fact, that I've just switched to a down sleeping quilt altogether.
Also, thinking about selling my Mountain Hardware Phantom" 45 degree for same reason (switching to quilts that is).

Price new (REI) is currently $279.00. My price, including shipping in the CONUS is $165.00. Includes cotton stuff sack and, if I can find it, the nylon stuff sack that came with it, if you want it. It's just the regular old heavyish nylon so I'm not sure why you would though.
Paypal works.

Got one of these from another member a year ago and love it. Spent some time in it at Mammoth Lakes area in mid fall - was nice and toasty.

Just shy of 6 foot and find the length plenty for me.

It's a great bag, and if it weren't for the fact that I'm switching over to the UL quilts, I'd keep it.
Is that the Grand Canyon behind you? One of my favorite backpacking destinations....

loved this bag! on 05/05/2012 17:17:54 MDT Print View

Used this bag last year on my PCT thru-hike. Got it down into the low to mid-20s multiple nights with no problems. So warm for the weight. This is a steal.

Yes, Grand Canyon. Only been there once and want to go back and down to the water. We've stayed on top on our trip.

I was kind of hoping to sell the Arroyo so that I'd have some money to buy a quilt to replace the MH Phantom, but since you're the second person to ask about the Phantom, I'll go ahead and say the price is going to be $160 plus shipping- which tends to run about $15 in the ConUS. That covers shipping, insurance and a tracking #. $160.00 is little over 50% of price new- at least from REI anyway.

I haven't had a chance yet to post pics for it yet but can try to soon. It's a regular length and in excellent condition if I didn't mention that in the original post.

Thanks for your interest.
