"Exclusive: New extreme footage of Bear Grylls:

Extreme mountain climbing icon Bear Grylls chose to summit the iconic Tombstone Rock in Canyonlands National Park near Moab, UT. The 350-ft sheer cliff face offered a chance for the adventurer to practice his climbing skills which he learned from his father as a boy and to reconnect with his roots."

In this video we see Bear running to the crag wearing mountaineers coils, jumping around on some rocks on the approach (which is a whopping 3 minute walk from the car park...), 'climbing' in some ill-fitting approach shoes, using a rope and gear (kind of) but topping out on his desert tower with some sort of short coil trailing behind him, and we also liked the black abseil/top-rope almost hidden from view when he is on the nice looking crack at 1:43. Bear - here's a tip - put your feet in the crack mate.

enjoy ;)

On the plus side, at least he's wearing the right deodorant.

Somebody will have to scape that boy off the rocks some day. I don't care so much that he takes personal risks, but he sets such a poor example.

When Bear Gryllys climbs the North Face of the Uxbridge Road I will have respect for him.

The problem you all have is that you are confused with the difference between mountaineer/climber versus entertainer.

It would be interesting to get an outside shot showing the support people and even helicopters than might have been used to shoot the commercial.

Any hoo... he is probably laughing all the way to the bank. Does anyone here make more money than Bear? I read somewhere he has a net worth of only $6 million. I am still a little short of that, but still working on it.

Keep buying those Bear G clothes and equipment :(

I thought i read somewhere that Bear has climbed .13 before so he does know wtf he is doing but he chooses to be the rad adventurer person instead of a serious climber.

luckily for him the percentage of people who can pick out the flaws in his commercials and shows is far smaller than the ones who think "sick brahh!!"

Then you get Honnold who is the real deal and super humble. He does what he does with the cameras there or not.

Dean potter lost all of my respect when he illegally climbed Delicate Arch... with photos.. video... etc. Any publicity even if it is bad seems to be fine with him. he is an attention wh0re with the whole free-base, solo highlines, etc.
