Here is my first round of MYOG gear. It is hard to believe that a little over a year ago I stumbled upon this group trying to find some lighter hiking poles and sleeping bag and now I am making my own Cuben gear and carrying about half the weight that I was last year. Thank you all.

2 pit zips and full front zip. Hood design was made from Thru-hiker.com (thank you Thru-hiker),Jacket Design was my own, Material was from Lawson (Thanks), notions mainly from zpacks

Seams are bonded, high stress seams are bonded and sewn

Weight 3.18 oz, 89.9 grams

Kilt/ground cloth

When you say "bonded" do you mean taped or glued?

I used 3m tape to bond. It's # 9485pc. Works well. It can be hard to sew through though. Just because you have to keep cleaning the needle.

Maybe the way to do it is to have tape on both sides but no tape where the row of stitches is so the needle doesn't get gummed up

Looks snazzy! Is that breathable cuben in the jacket?

I heard seeking through a layer of wax paper can help lubricate the needle. That might help in your situation.

Wax paper sounds promising. I am in the middle of a second one so I'll give it a try.

This is not breathable. It is the material Lawson sales 0.74 weight. I hope the 10" pit zips and loose fit are enough.
