I've been fly fishing for years and I've never owned a tenkara rod. I'd like to give it a shot this year, as I expect to be backpacking in areas that would be great for it this year. If anyone is looking to sell their used setup, let me know. Also, willing to trade assorted fly fishing gear for this rod. I have a redington Red.Start 6 weight setup with reel and case, I think its around 9 feet long? Haven't used it in a few years so I'd have to double check. the redington is a 4 piece rod and great for traveling. I also have a really awesome UL and very short stream fishing rod from st croix (no reel included here, as I have 2 of these and am keeping the other one) designed for fishing small streams or streams where you've got a lot of overhang. This is a rod I used to use much like a tenkara rod but with its reel attached. It is approx. 6 feet and its a 3 weight, with medium to stiff action. It cost around $160 new, and they go for around $200 these days I believe. Comes with rod and rod case/tube. This rod is amazing, you can cast under overhanging tree branches and in tight spots. If you're careful about how you fish, you can land much larger fish on this little rod, I used to regularly catch 14 inch brown trout with this rod with no problems. Any interest? PM or aklags/gmail
