A green metal gate blocks the way forward. The chain holding the gate closed has a padlock affixed to it. I’m not sure what this means. Standing there for a minute or two, I consider the possibilities. A spirit of adventure takes over. Leaning my Pacerpoles against the fence, I clamber over, my overnight pack clinging to my back like a monkey.

Nice write up. It does seem to be unseasonably warm in the west at least.

Ike, yeah, it was long overdue. In a way, it felt like I was coming home after a long absence.

Thom, it's great to still have you as a reader.

HK, the warm weather out west makes it good for getting out now, but could also give us a heck of a fire season. Hoping for cooler and wetter weather.
