Shaving? on 04/02/2012 10:47:55 MDT Print View

So what is this shaving thing y'all are talking about? The whole thing sounds very barbaric to me.

Avoid ingrown hair by shaving less. on 04/02/2012 21:54:18 MDT Print View

"I have rather sensitive skin and am prone to ingrown hairs if I don't shave on a regular basis."

According to wikipedia.org": "Anything which causes the hair to be broken off short with a sharp tip can cause ingrown hair. Shaving is the leading cause, followed by waxing and tight clothing."

The ingrown hair is an indication you are shaving to much or too hard. Shaving to hard may also make your skin sensitive. If you just stopped shaving you likely would have more ingrown hair, for a while. Put onc the hair grows out its very likely you won't get any more ingrown hairs.

Another option is to switch to an electric shaver. Ingrown hair is typically not a problem for fhose that use electric shavers.

I wouldn't try to take that to the bank.

Mine beard grows in weird, so I make a virtue out of necessity and enjoy a proper shave. Feels good!

And I was not aware that there was a April Fools Eve. Silly me.

Funniest thing is you know someone is carrying all that with them.

but of course that would ruin the joke.

April Fools is international? I never knew that. And I have European parents. I though it was one of those made up ones we like so much over here.

Slippery Dolphin on 04/13/2012 11:09:50 MDT Print View

I recently discovered Slippery Dolphin Shave Oil. I was given a sample in a back country race in Aspen (Golden Leaf). This stuff is great. It is only 1/2 oz so it makes great for packing. I think it is the only shave oil that is made for endurance athletes and I know that I am hooked. Check it out at www.slipperydolphin.com. Has anyone else discovered this stuff as well?

Shaving cream in a can is "modern"?

Stephen Barber, with a full and luxurious beard, on shaving?

Aqua Velva, the most notorious bear stimulant known to man, on the trail?

You guys have me in stitches.

Personally, I jes drag mah bowie over my face agin the grain. Whiskers come right off and the wimmins seem ta like it fine. Of course it's a Baledeo bowie and weighs 27 grams.
