I just finished one of if not the most impressive myog projects I've ever made and that's saying something. Sadly like a idiot when making the pattern I didn't account for shrinkage from down loft. So it came out 42 inches wide and 66 inches long from the inside of the footbox to the collar. Instead of the 46X70 I wanted It has 3 inches of loft with 14 ounces of down so the chambers are 25% overstuffed it has the draft collar to reduce drafts and is just a overall beautiful quit I'm 5,8 and 140lbs and it's big enough and stays tucked as long as I'm on my back or stomach but sadly I'm a thrashing side sleeper so the width just won't do for me, the outer shell is pertex quantum the inner is 7d from TiGoat, baffles are made from .51 cuben. total weight is 20 ounces in stuff sack I believe that's all the specs but feel free to ask me questions. asking 150$ Shipped CONUS Here's picsquilt

Ya' know...that would make an awesome hammock under quilt with very little effort. Especially with those vertical baffles. Maybe it's a sign to try out hammocking?

all you would need to do is seam rip the footbox and it would be good to go! sadly me and hammocks don't agree, I end up on the ground in the middle of the night

I was gonna say, this is a good deal basically materials plus shipping is all you are paying, you are getting all the labor free. Good deal for someone.

Shrinkage on 04/02/2012 21:06:38 MDT Print View

William,

Beautiful looking quilt, very high quality and a great pick-up for the new owner.

Just out of curiosity because I'm about to try my first quilt how much shrinkage occured after the down was stuffed?

I noticed you were 4" under what you were shooting for, but what measurements did you start with and end up?

Thanks ahead of time cuz I've been trying to narrow this down.

sold! on 04/03/2012 10:41:42 MDT Print View

it's sold! and Trevor I started with a fabric width of 47 inches and a length of 70 I think it was the 3-3.5 inch loft that killed me, last quilt i made was 1.5 inches loft and had much less shrinkage
