Looking for some new gear... on 03/20/2012 21:54:49 MDT Print View

I am looking for some new gear here for the summer, but i kind of have a tight budget.

1. I want to find a sleeping bag that is rated for around 20-30 degrees, synthetic or down, that is under $150.

2. I want to find a 4 person tent, preferably double-walled, for under $275.

Can you guys help?

I ended up with a Sierra Designs Wu Hu 4 for less than $150. It's very spacious, tall, and has very vertical walls. It's heavy though.

Luxurylite and Kelty (from Campmor) have down bags that will fit the temperature range and price.

Allen, if you do the whole CleanSnipe/Department Of Goods trick, you could get a Mountain Hardwear Ultralamina 15 for under $150.

I think you would be better off if you flipped your budget. Your much better off spending money on a quality bag.

EMS down bag on 03/21/2012 09:48:59 MDT Print View

I've got a down bag from EMS rated for 20 degrees. It's not new, but in great condition. Would fall in your price range. You can PM me if interested. It's I believe 600 fill down.
