No sense of humor...I completely understand. There is just something really, really, really weird about a man who put himself into $400,000+ in debt for a piece of paper that says "I am able to stick my finger in your ass". Really. Who in their right mind wakes up one morning and says "I want to be a proctologist!"????

I have a buddy who told me he had to go in for a digital prostate exam. We spend about 30 minutes trying to figure out what kind of computer that probe attached to, when I finally realized digits = fingers. Duh!

An Anesthesiologist makes the same amount...without having to fondle dudes butt holes. Then again, I got shot at and had people trying to blow me up for under $40,000 a year. Who knows what I'd do for $200,000 a year. Of course, I'd only do that job for a year and then quit.

This type of exam may soon be government mandated.

In theory you are right. But my experience with Government programs is that people cheat and the Government can't figure it out. So I would bet we are paying for those little pills :)

Hi Ben,

I hope you never get Prostate Cancer, but I do think you need to do some reading on Prostate Cancer or to be more specific recovery after Radical Prostatectomy especially after loosing some nearby nerves like I did.

Two years ago I was diagnosed with advanced Prostate Cancer, shortly after I had a Radical Prostatectomy, I was prescribed Viagra as part of my recovery, for me taking Viagra is to do with long term male health and it has very little to do with sex, later in life if you are unable to have erections a certain part of you shrivels up and then it becomes difficult to relieve yourself.

This whole experience has been very expensive and to add to that in Australia any ED medication is not subsidized, I wish it was, I believe it is ignorance by some powerful groups that is stopping this happening.

BTW the digital examinations were one of the better parts of the experience.

IIRC, Senator Howell proposed this in response to a bill/amendment (proposed by a male legislator) that required women to submit to some kind of test or examination in order to receive some kind of care/benefit concerning their reproductive health.

In essence, the female legislators are p*ssed about some old men trying to take control over women's reproductive health choices.
