Sorry Piper, but if I was out hiking and saw you I might fall over laughing! Was the pad strapped to your body to keep you warmer or to protect against angry bucks?

I think that is actually a very clever UL full body cast, applied in the field. Maybe a broken back from some freak accident?

Well, the story is that it had poured rain the day before, my cheap poncho had failed miserably and all my clothes were still soaking wet in the morning. I was freezing and this was what I had on hand to add a little warmth for the final 4 miles out to my car.

I noticed my favourite R1 Hoody matches my latest pair of Montrail Mountain masochists. Oh, and my new Jam matches my Supervisor. I'm a regular fashion model on the trail I guess :)

So my wife said to me when i was showing her my new myog ul tyvec rain jacket and chaps: ok... I'll wear one when we go out but every time i see another hiker I'm going to ask them "QUICK, WHAT YEAR IS IT!"
