Are Marmot precip pants my best option for something that's going to breath (even if only a bit) and last? You can get them for like 40 on STP. They've got cheaper options, but I'm not sure they'll breath at all. Frogg Toggs sound like the pants just don't last.

Maybe the Golite ones? $50 but a bit lighter and I know I like the Pertex Shield material.

I picked up a pair of the GoLite Tumalo rain pants this past weekend for $45 at the local GoLite outlet. It's a pertex shield 2.5 layer shell at 6.7 oz. As for the Marmot precip, they are ok, though I had to reapply DWR to mine after just a few uses.
