Any kind of Bivy Kit like the other kits on Thruhiker that you folks know of? I am really new to sewing entire pieces and would like clear and precise directions for the first couple of major projects.

I did a Meteor for my first gear project. Still in use 5 years later.

Take your time.

Make your first one out of some cheap fabric.

Here's a kit: http://www.rockywoods.com/Fabrics-Kits/Bivy-Sack-Kit/Bivy-Sack-Kit-Black

I have no idea how light it is, but it looks interesting.

Jamie S has some excellent instructions on his website. A bivy is a great first project. http://www.lytw8.com/My_Gear.html#LytW8_Bivy
