That's why Americans vote a Republican in office about half the time - the debt gets magically solved.

Reagan and Bush I (12 years) - the national debt is not a problem because ...
Clinton (8 years) - OMG we have so much debt, so we need you to cut federal spending...
Bush II (8 years) - the national debt is not a problem because ...
Obama (current) - OMG we have so much debt, so we need you to cut federal spending...


>ADD: It is a problem but only Ron Paul would cut spending enough to make a sizable dent in the debt, assuming we do not look at the rest of his proposals or their impact. Pretty sure the Republicans will NOT nominate him due to his proposed cuts to the military-industrial complex though.
