Just wondering if my new Patagonia Rock Guide pant can accept Permethrin treatment without compromising the DWR or UV features? Also wonder about some inexpensive Magellan outfits bought at Academy Sports in the USA that have a Teflon coating.

I had the old Pertex labs (when England based) test the impact of Permethrin on their fluorocarbon based DWR. They reported the DWR went from class 5 (good) to class 3-2 (poor). I would expect similar results in your case. Put the Permethrin on your base layer and not on your DWR treated layer.

A permethrin treatment applied to my (already DWRed) boots last fall did seem to me to noticeably decrease beading.
