sawyer inline vs. msr autoflow/ platypus cleanstream? on 02/19/2012 18:56:52 MST Print View

How do these filters stack up against each other?

It seams they all weigh about the same, but the sawyer is .1 micron vs .2 micron. I could probably live with either, but am more concerned with reliability and flow rate.

Either filter will be used in gravity system with a prefilter.

I can only say that after much research I went with the Sawyer inline filter. It has served me well. I was surprised how quicky it filteres 3L of water. I can not comment othe other filters, but I am very satisfied with the Sawyer.

Anyone have any comparison on how quickly the sawyer filters water compared to the others?

Not sure on the exact flow rate, but I have mine spliced into my hydration hose and I drink through it without noticing a loss of flow.
