WTT: Cilogear 60L Work Sack on 02/10/2012 15:46:40 MST Print View

I have a Cilogear 60L Work Sack that I am looking to trade. I love this pack, it has been great for doing family backpacking trips... I use it for everything: stripped-down and frameless as a day pack, and fully loaded for winter use.

The problem is that now that my kids are growing and able to carry more of their own stuff, it is too big for my needs. Ideally, I would love to have the 45L version of this pack, so if there is anyone who is looking to up-size, I would be happy to do a straight-across trade. I would also be willing to consider other pack trades as well, provided they are able to meet my needs as a multi-purpose pack for a wide range of seasons and conditions.

I have an Osprey 46liter LARGE, Brand New with the tags. Its a $200 bag that I picked up for $160, I can get you pics if your interested. I would like to sell it but I would look at trades as well, just not for another pack. Im in the market for a light weight tent or a down sleeping bag.

Email me at Endr87@yahoo.com if your interested.

I have an older model CCW Chernobyl (with tool tubes), it is a 49L pack and in the same league as your Cilogear and would do a straight across trade. It is in good condition.

Benjamin: Thanks for the offer. Unfortunately I do not have a shelter or down bag available for trade at the moment.

Paul: Thank you as well for the offer. I went and checked-out that pack. I think it will be too small for my needs though. The Cilogear 45L pack actually compresses down to 22 L and expands up to 75 L, which is about the range I am looking for. The pack I have, the 60 L Work Sack expands up to 90.

Hey Damien I don't have a Worksak 45 to trade you but I thought I'd pass this on to you. I was under the impression that the bigger packs put more weight on your hips while the 45 liter and under packs are designed to put more on your shoulders. I don't know if you'd want to look into that or not. Golites got a big sale going if you're interested. My local REI carries one of their interanl frame packs if you want me to check it out.

Thanks Luke. I hadn't heard of the difference in between the load carrying of the 45L and the 60L, I will definitely check that out. At the moment, I don't have the budget to purchase a new pack... but if I did, I would definitely take you up on that offer!

Damien, would you be open to selling the pack? I am on the ascending side of the carried weight curve, I will soon have to start carrying gear for my kids.

I am definitely open to selling it, I just need to save-up the difference for purchasing what I want before I would be able to let it go. Are you in need of something right now, or are you willing to wait?

Not a problem Ben,

FWIW, the pack also has an extension collar which I would estimate would bring the pack to around 60L. It has served me well for both multi-day winter trips and one day winter routes.

It doesn't *compress* to anywhere close to 22L, but my one day winter gear fits easily into my Speed 30 (that includes a sleeping bag and bivy) and before I purchased that pack, I just used the CCW pack and it performed flawlessly.

I would say that the CCW packs would be suitable for needs ranging from 30L-60L, with its sweet spot around 50L.

No worries though if you are not interested.

I can wait. Hopefully your trade works out, but if it doesn't, and you are in a position to sell, please let me know. Thanks.
