I told the people that purchased the Zia pot supports and grills over the weekend that I would mail them on Monday. I forgot that today is Presidents Day, and the post office is of course closed. So they will be mailed tomorrow. They should all arrive by Friday, except for the grill and supports to be sent to Kenneth--he lives in Denmark.

I mailed everything today. Please let me know when you receive your stuff, so that I'll know it made it to you. Or, just post "Got it" on this thread. Thanks, guys.

What web site? I don't have a web site. I'm just an HTML-challenged titanium bender, and my only exposure is here on BPL, where the true gear geeks congregate.

I've been emailing with Gary (always nice to talk with someone that is obviously enthusiastic about their work/hobby). He had highlighted some of the reasons why my original one may not have been optimized, and I agreed with him.

He has been gracious enough to make a taller pot stand with longer sections for my larger pot. Looking forward to playing with the stand on my porch until my next backpacking trip.

I'll let you know how it goes...I have some Esbit burning a hole in my pocket!

Tom, your new pot support was mailed today. Please let me know when you receive it. Oh, and maybe you ought to PIF your little one to a person that does steam baking...

I mailed your pot support today, Jason. You should get it in a day or so. I should have just driven up to Ft C and handed it to you, huh? Let me know if it will work for you.

Thanks Gary, I look forward to the pot support. I'll let you know when it arrives. It would have been great for you to drive up--I could show you a few of our wonderful breweries. I know you have some good ones in Boulder but I am very partial to Odell's. I really like the 90 schilling.

Got the pot stand, and it looks great. Big difference from my original one (which I will pif once I get a chance). I went so far as to get my pot and an esbit tablet, but didn't light it.
Thanks!
Tom

You gotta love the USPS for 24-hour delivery (but it was only 50 miles from Boulder to Ft. Collins, probably by-passing Denver), and you really gotta love titanium. Enjoy your pot stand, and those O'Dells in FtC. Contact me if you have any questions or concerns about the pot support. And if you get down to Lyons, hit Oskar Blues and snag a Dale's Pale Ale.

Gary,
Think you could make a pot stand for a Borde Bomb white gas stove? It's this exact model, bought from HikinJim, and really needs to be able to withstand some serious heat:

http://adventuresinstoving.blogspot.com/2011/02/stove-of-week-borde-stove.html

The stand needs to be 3 1/2" tall. Also, can you make the feet in a small "L" shape so the stand will not sink into soft ground?
Thanks!

M

Yes, Matthew, I might be able to do that. It would have to be made of a different diameter rod I think, as 3.5" is pretty tall for this pot stand design. I also need to know the diameter of your pot. Why don't you shoot me an e-mail at my home (drzooz@aol.com), and we can discuss this privately. Please be forwarned--this will cost plenty, but I'll do what I can to help you out. This should be an interesting project.
