Maybe it's just my mood today or maybe not... but I really dislike the "blame" mentality that seems to plague our country more and more. For a long time, we were blaming the Japanese. Lately, they've been entirely off the radar screen! Did they reform themselves completely and thoroughly? Doubtful. We found a new, better scapegoat is all.

America: the ever gracious winner (imagine if Germany or Japan had won the war!) -- but sore loser when it doesn't get its way!! Punishing Cuba for 50 years, because we can.

Keep in mind that I live in Alaska:

"Friends don't let friends eat farmed fish"

"Farmed fish dyed for your dinner" (yes, with that spelling)

"Homer, a quaint drinking village with a fishing problem"

"If it's tourist season, why can't we shoot them?"

I misread a non-profit's sign and thought it said, "Halibut for Humanity".

Those are good ones David; I was going to post the tourist one as well.
Just last week, but not just the initial:
"F... the fence."

Open to interpretation, but I read it as the fence at the border.

>"God save me from your followers."

The new puppy barfs in the way back of the RAV4 so when driving to the trailhead for snowcamping last week, she was in my wife's lap riding shotgun. So,

"Dog is my co-pilot" applied to me that day.

I did a take-off on an anti-crime ad and put, "Use an Ice-axe go to Jail. It's the Law." on a climber co-worker's rear bumper. He didn't notice until a cop questioned him about it during a traffic stop. He responded by putting,

"MADD - Mathematicians Against Drunk Deriving" on my car.

Funny and really only mildly offensive.

I find people with a lot of bumper stickers drive too slow, like 50% of the speed limit. When my behemoth SUV is inches from their rear bumper, I can't read them anyway :)

Although I did like one I saw a while back. Something like, "Elephants and Asses both lie to the Masses."

On the side of a truck on 02/10/2012 13:10:38 MST Print View

so not a bumper sticker, but the business' name, displayed prominantly:

"Two White Guys who do Drugs and Paint Houses"

A lot more memorable then "A-1 Painting Company".

Editted to add: in San Francisco, circa 1982.

Some of my favs:

We are all atheists about most gods.
Some of us just go one god further.

Human decency is not derived from religion.
It precedes it.

Instead of being born again,
Why not just grow up?
