EDIT:

Sorry for the fuss .... Customer Service at Cabelas assured me they were in stock.
I should have checked further before posting this.

I can't wait to have just one Pad!

About Time..... on 02/07/2012 09:02:30 MST Print View

That's great news! A 5.7R pad @ 15 oz. Although that large is very tempting at 25" wide @ 22 oz. I'm a little guy, but even my arms fall off a 20" wide pad. I'll have to check REI.

Hmmm.... that may be an option for my hammock. Expensive, but still less expensive than a down underquilt and can be used when I have to go to ground. Does that count as 'dual use'?

At REI Warehouse Feb. 13 on 02/07/2012 09:17:45 MST Print View

I just checked with REI and they told me they'll be shipped to their warehouse Feb. 13. When will it hit the store....I don't know.

crinkle sound? on 02/07/2012 09:34:42 MST Print View

This mat is at the top of my short list. I finally need to replace my circa 2000 Therm-a-rest Ultralite 3/4. I'm a decade older and need more warmth and cushion!

But, I need to see how loud it is. I played with the Xlite at REI recently and its at least as noisy as the old Neoair.

Dang it! I ordered a Stephenson's DAM a couple weeks ago after hearing it wouldn't be til March when the Xtherms would be ready.

I use the NeoAir All Season which is a 5R pad so it's not so different than the new XTherm. It works okay but is nothing like my Exped Downmat.

I ordered one yesterday and my order confirmation said it was an Xlite not an XTherm. I definitely ordered an Xtherm thougj, and that was the description right up to the point I hit go on the order.

I called customer service and they couldn't be sure one way or another which type they were shipping me. The description in the order sheet says Xlight, but when she plugged in the item number it clearly showed an XTherm.

I won't know until it actually gets delivered next week. I am skeptical based on the timing, the price, and the fact that nobody else seems to have these available yet.

We shall see! I can just ship it back if it's actually an Xlite.

I have one being shipped to the Cabela's near me that will be here Monday or Tuesday. I sure hope it's the xtherm as I am not interested in the xlite.

Not available anymore on 02/08/2012 08:29:56 MST Print View

The Xtherm is not available online anymore, they probably realized their mistake and took it off, I hope not because I want to see what people think of them.

Xtherm Availability on 02/09/2012 10:45:00 MST Print View

Per Backcountry Gear's Website:Please note the Xtherm is backordered until 4/1/12.
Shucks! I was willing to give up my underquilt for this but by April really wont need the 5.7 R value.

Well, the verdict is in. Cabelas sent me an Xlite, not an XTherm. It will be going back.

Hope I saved some of you the trouble
