I found this Chinese site with quite a few ideas for tarp set ups. Scroll down and look at some of the ideas. Some are quite unique!
Thanks for posting. We normally think of tarps as something you use one at a time but those combos are really cool. I could see that being handy for a group of people. If theres a big spot pitch them together and hang out. If there's not a big spot you can seperate into several different spots. Assuming those pitches work well you basically have all the advantages of individual shelters plus the advantages of a groupl shelter.

I saw this or a very similar post, Asian, about 1.5 to two years ago and it was somewhat of a catalyst to my transition from tents to tarps.
This is truly trekking light.
