FS/FT: HMG Expedition Pack Large on 02/03/2012 14:09:50 MST Print View

I have a Hyperlite Mountain Gear Expedition Pack, size Large. It's made out of cuben fiber. This is basically brand new, I used it for one day. It is just a little too big for me. The weight is 27oz without the stays. The stays are 2oz each. It has 3 side compression straps on each side, a roll top closure and 2 top straps. None of the straps have been altered/cut. I put a pillow inside for the pictures hence the shape. Super durable and comfortable, very very well made, there is a built in foam pad, it is waterproof, and has places everywhere to attach (pockets, accessories. Price is $220 including shipping/insurance/delivery confirmation. (Retail $300) Payment via paypal. I would also consider trading for a WM summerlite or highlite regular length in excellent condition.

Willing to trade for a new-condition TiGoat/JRB UL Sierra Sniveller? All black 20D with the best 900 fill down...I'll even throw in some bungee cord to cinch it up...

bear canister? on 02/03/2012 19:37:00 MST Print View

Do you know if a bear canister will fit sideways in this pack?

Thanks

RE: inside dimensions on 02/03/2012 20:00:42 MST Print View

I don't have a bear can on me, but the inside is about 12.5 (wide) x 9.5 (deep) conservative measurements at the very bottom. It does get bigger in the middle, at least 14 inches wide, it would for sure fit one sideways about 7 inches up from the bottom or anywhere higher.

@Kenneth: I have a big BearVault, and that bear can doesn't really fit sideways. The way the pack is tapered, it does fit in that manner at the top, but can't go down too far and I couldn't get the can to stay sideways without twisting and turning. If you have a smaller can, should work no problem.

This was my experience with my Expedition (size small).
