I recently ordered a Clarkii rod from Ruta Locura. When it arrived, I assembled it incorrectly (although I didn't realize this until much later), and one of the carbon tube sections cracked. I contacted Josh Leavitt, and he replied right away asking me to send it back so he could replace it. We kept in touch by email, and he explained the mistake I had made when I assembled the pieces. I mentioned that I planned to attach it to a GG LT4 pole, but I didn't need Ruta Locura's LT4 adapter because I planned to make one of my own.

Less than a week later, I recieved not only a new Clarkii rod, but also an LT4 adapter, which is a rather complex little piece machined from several sizes of carbon tubing.

I have a handful of reasons for wanting to support cottage industry, and this experience provides an example of one of those reasons. It stands out in my mind as one of the most positive interactions I've had with any business.
