I made a winter tarp for my hammock. I stuffed the tarp in a sack and when I got to camp and pulled it out, the tarp was all wrinkled. Is there a way to un-wrinkle silnylon?
Just don't poke a hole in the tarp with the needle.
You can iron it on a very and I mean very low setting but it will be wrinkled again the next time you pack it. Fabrics wrinkle when you pack them, has no affect on the use though.
Let's say I iron it, should I store it in snake skins to limit the wrinkling?
Don't sweat the wrinkles. Snakeskins might help a little. But, really?
When silnylon is folder and rolled, it loses its wrinkles. If left hanging on a line, the wrinkles remain.Don't ask me why - maybe someone can explain it.
I've found a taut pitch to be more than adequate to smooth out the wrinkles...BM
