Copper Spur UL 2 real life weight? on 01/29/2012 11:06:54 MST Print View

Does anyone know what the Copper Spur weighs trail-ready? Is the 3 lb 13oz weight accurate? I'd love to go lighter, but at 6'4" it seems to offer the best balance of big enough and lightish.

Ben,

Here are the wt for my Copper Spur 2.

tent 19.0 oz

fly 17.0
poles 14.0
stakes + sack (qty 10) 4.0
pole sack, pole repair tube, tent bag 1.5
footprint 5.0

Hope this helps - I really enjoy my CS 2 as a large 1 person tent.

Awesome, thank you!
So it's 55.5 ounces minus the footprint, if I added up quickly. That's lighter than I thought, and advertised. That's great! Campsaver has them on sale right now, so I'm probably going to snag one.

One last question James--is it actually 90 inches? There are some reviews out there that claim it's more like 82", which is a dealbreaker for me. The appeal is the length.

Ben,

I don't have the tent up now in the snows of NY, but as I recall it measured an inch shy of 90 when I measured it. I'm 6-1 and have no problem with it.

Great tent - would be pretty tight for two. Only thing I don't like is how the screen door hangs on the floor when unzipped.

Enjoy.

Length concerns on 01/29/2012 22:12:06 MST Print View

I'm 6'3" and use a neoair and Im fine on length. I've been in some bad storms in that thing and love it.
