Took this image two weeks ago in the Snowy Range of Wyoming. This was acually the view from outside the cabin we had rented. Not as grand as other pics in this forum, but it really captured the still silence of the moment.

That is beautiful. I have seen snow on the ground before, maybe an inch or two, but I have never had it snow on me before.

Great shot, very tranquil. I like the near-far perspective with the foreground tree.

have you condidered doing any editing to you photos? They are perfectly framed, but I always find that a little photoshop tweaking really goes a long way on my own pictures. I add this only to give some advice, please don't take this the wrong way. I did just a teensy bit of editing to this small version. tell me what you think.

All I did with the original was crop it to the current frame. I only have very basic software but need to get my hands on PhotoShop or something like it.

The brightness in your edit makes it look a bit different. I think I actually like it darker - kind of a "snow closing in" feeling.

This pic needs some editing though...

I worked on it a little, but I have ever edited anything with snow before.

You could do the same with Photoshop Elements 2.0 or higher.

Another option is to compensate for the exposure in the camera. If you metered off the snow the camera will set the exposure to medium tone (grey). Since snow really isn't grey you need to change the exposure a bit: 1 1/3 stops lighter than medium tone would work.

You could also spot meter off the tree trunks, which would lighten things up a bit.
