MountainSmith Morrison 2 person, not that light but you can pick one up pretty cheap. I picked one up and modified it to lighten it up, I may sell it PM me if you're interested. here

I have the MSR Hubba Hubba HP which has way more fabric on the inner, but ends up being lighter than the regular Hubba Hubba. Great tent but expensive and ridiculously hard to find.

REI Quarterdome UL (2009 version) on 01/19/2012 06:51:24 MST Print View

i picked up an REI Quarterdome UL (2009 version) for myself and my son and it is a very good tent for the money. the 2009 version has a feed thru pole design vs. clips and uses only two poles where the current version uses three and clips. they aren't available from REI anymore, but here are the details:

http://www.rei.com/product/767268/rei-quarter-dome-ul-tent-special-buy

oddly enough, the weight specs have been removed, but here is a review of the tent with the weight spec (just under 4lbs):

there is one on eB*y right now (i am not affiliated with the seller or item in any way)

Agree with Dan re: Tarptent Scarp2. Just got mine with the fabric inner. I haven't had it out yet, but I am liking what I see.

In addition to those listed, you might also consider the Big Agnes Copper Spur 2 (I like the roominess of the CS3 better, but that's just me).

BA Seedhouse SL2 on 01/19/2012 12:29:34 MST Print View

Michael,
I have an unused Big Agnes Seedhouse SL2 I bought early last year that I would consider selling for, say, $200. I bought it for $225 from BA directly as a pre-production run tent (meaning, the color is an olive-tan instead of the standard taupe. It's identical in every other way to the standard version). It came with a triangle gear loft I'm happy to throw in.
PM me if you're interested.
Else, best of luck to you!
Neil

lightpath 3 on 01/21/2012 21:47:16 MST Print View

I picked up a Mountain Hardwear Lightpath 3 off criagslist recently for my daughter, me and the dog. It seems to get good reviews and falls in the low end of your price range. It's around 5 pounds, but if you are like me, that means 3 pounds for me and 2 for my daughter. It is not freestanding if that matters where you camp.
