WTB: Cheap Hammock Suspension on 01/15/2012 17:15:56 MST Print View

I just picked up a Grand Trunk Lightweight Hammock to give it a shot and need a cheap suspension system. Anybody have anything they want to get rid of? Or recomendations on where to start?

I don't have anything I'm getting rid of, but something like this might work out for you.

yea, just get a whoopie sling kit, the arrowhead equipment gear is good, it's where I get mine.

Pretty easy to make.
Go over to Hammockforums.com and look around for instructions.
There is tons of suspension info over there of all sorts.

Order some Amsteel online and go for it.

Or as above just order it complete.

Whoopies take some getting used to, but I recommend them, too. You can buy some straps at www.strapworks.com and choose whatever strap material is appropriate for your weight. They will add loops for a few bucks more if you want (I just tied loops on the end of the straps). Have fun and if the whoopies don't work, don't despair; there's other options. But whoopies are about as light as you're going to get (I'm assuming weight is a big factor for you).
