The March '12 issue of Backpacker mag has a writeup on the new Exped Mira 1 tent:

http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=de&u=http://www.alpinsport-basis.de/Exped-Mira-I_1&ei=I2kPT-KkGKbh0QG0sv3MAw&sa=X&oi=translate&ct=result&resnum=2&sqi=2&ved=0CCwQ7gEwAQ&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dexped%2BMira%2B1%26hl%3Den%26biw%3D1024%26bih%3D743%26prmd%3Dimvnsb

A Hubba-style tent, but larger and still under 3 lbs. Maybe a good candidate to replace the heavier DAC main pole with Easton carbon FX and drop a few more ounces.

Please convert your URL to TinyURL -- it is too long to grab from your post. Thanks

http://www.expedlife.com/ may be more useful.

Non-translated link to Alpinsport site

MSR made adding the carbon poles a little easier by offering it as OEM. Their Reflex tent (non-freestanding Hubba) is the same configuration with carbon poles and relatively lightweight materials. If you want freestanding, they have the Hubba. I had a Hubba years back and liked it for what it is.

Tarptent also has one very similar called the Rainbow.

Roleigh,
Sorry, tested it twice during the post, and it patched OK; but for some reason, it does not want to shrink. It may have to do with the long translation code; but I liked the German site for its views and coverage of the specs. The link kindly provided to Expedlife should work.

The tent is an inch and a half wider than the MSR tents, and has more vertical room at the head. With an FX long pole, it would be competitive in weight with the MSR tent (IMO).
