Planning on hiking to clouds rest from the valley. I've never been to Yosemite before so I was wondering if this itinerary sounds do-able.

Tues (Jan 17)

Leave early morning from Upper Pines.
Arrive at the Junction of Clouds Rest before Sunset.

Wed (Jan 18)

Summit Clouds Rest in the morning (~ 9 AM)
Leave for Little Yosemite Valley at 1 PM
Arrive in LYV before Sunset

Thursday (Jan 19)

Depart for the Valley in the morning

That is very doable. I did a similar trip like that a few years ago. However at this time of the year, there is no overnight parking on Hwy 120 nor is the shuttle service for hikers running. Is someone dropping you off?

Ken, he is starting from the valley floor, then up and back.

I hope it is doable because in late may I'm trying to do the valley floor to Cloud's Rest and back in a day. Yeah it will likely destroy my body, but it seems to be a challenging hike. I did Cloud's Rest from Tuolumne Meadows in 2010 and people were dayhiking from the valley at getting up there by noon. Not sure if they continued to Tuolumne or went back to the valley though. Anyway's, let us know how your hike went.
