Hi Everyone, Trying to plan a 2 week backpacking trip this year but am stumped for ideas and need your help. I've already done the John Muir Trail, Glacier, Tahoe Rim Trail, Wonderland Trail and Yellowstone Bechler River Trail. Considering a section hike of the AT or Vermont Long Trail but logistics look a bit difficult and not sure what sections to do. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Specifics:
Total Mileage should be 120 to 200 miles
I only have 2 weeks vacation which includes travel time.
There will be 3 of us flying in from Arizona. We can rent a car from the airport if needed.
Trail should be in the U.S.
No winter hikes

Wind River Range

The pictures of Wind River look spectacular. Looks like it's fairly close to Jackson Hole. Is there a specific long trail through the area?

Buy the book "Beyond Trails in the Wind River Mountains of Wyoming" (http://www.mcreynoldscpa.com/BeyondTrails) and the Beartooth Publishing "Wind River Range North" and/or "Wind River Range South" maps (available at www.beartoothpublishing.com).

That should keep you busy for the rest of your life.

I did a trip last August (http://genuflector.blogspot.com/2011/09/wind-river-range-traverse.html) from Big Sandy TH in the south to the Green River Lakes TH in the north. Half on trails, half off-trail.

The Great Outdoor Shop (http://www.greatoutdoorshop.com/) in Pinedale can run a car shuttle for you. Not cheap, but split a few ways it's reasonable.

Bring bug spray.

You could traverse the Winds north to south and by adding side trips and fishing you could spend your whole vacation there easily esp if you spend time off trail.
