I am in the process of making my own gravity water filter out of a platy big zip bag and think this would be a good option as a pre filter. Has anyone ever used the duda diesel 1 micron bag as a pre filter setup? If so how was the results or is there a better option?
If you can get your hands on the silk bag, it will be much lighter and less bulky. But, it's more costly. They work fine, once saturated.
Do they also make the silk ones? What's the micron size on them?
I have used the duda diesel as pre-filter for years and it works greathttp://www.backpackinglight.com/cgi-bin/backpackinglight/xdpy/forum_thread/27144/index.html?skip_to_post=224725#224725http://www.backpackinglight.com/cgi-bin/backpackinglight/xdpy/forum_thread/13654/index.html?skip_to_post=372891#372891
