I picked up an OR two person hooped bivy on Craigslist a few months ago(cheap). It's just like the current (Gore-Tex) bivys OR offers now but is about a foot and a half wider, which leaves room for my pack inside as well. It was discontinued a few years ago so I can't find much info or reviews on it. Its still in good shape, probably just needs a good spray with the Nikwax.

Has anyone out there had any experience with one of these?

I want to use it for snow camping along with a 20 degree synthetic bag, Therma-rest pro light, and a CCF pad underneath.

I've read some of you have used a bivy in the snow without a tarp or tent. will this work in the snow or am I asking for trouble?
