Fully enclosed tarp, silnylon, 8.8oz/250gr on 12/03/2011 10:18:21 MST Print View

I made it two years ago, after not being able to find any similar product in the market: Minimal and with full protection on 360ยบ.

This two years I have hiked with it more than 2500km in several trips (Pyrenees High Route, Cordillera Cantabrica High Route, The Alps from Switzerland to the sea...), with very good performance on them.

Now, I am planning to make another identical or similar one.

MS tarp

I have some more photos and info on my blog: http://mikel-salazar.blogspot.com/

wouldn't a fully enclosed tarp be called a . . . . . . . . tent ?

If fully enclosed tarp has a floor, it's a tent.

If it doesn't have a floor I think it's ambiguous - some people might call that a tent, others not.

Usually I call it tent because it's a more understandable name for most of the people, but here in BPL I've called it tarp because I usually use it in a tarp style setting, as in the photo above.

When the weather is very bad and the natural protection is not good, I use it in a fully enclosed setting, except on the floor.
