I agree, and told Ryan this. I think the lifetime membership should be priced closer to $200.

The higher the cost of the MLIFE, the more exclusive it will become; meaning, only the people with more money will plop down $200. Do I think that all the information is worth $200? Yes, but that would deter many people from signing up. I don't think the purpose of MLIFE was to exclude anyone--just give a few perks to those willing to put in a guaranteed investment.

The lower price for MLIFE keeps it available to more people, which is in stride with how BPL operates. While it is a business and it needs to do what is necessary to stay viable, BPL seems less profit-centric than many other companies and more experience/service-based.

To me, the main benefit for Life members is protection from increases in the annual dues, which I suspect is going to happen, probably soon.

From a business standpoint, one problem with encouraging folks to sign up for Life membership is that there won't be any future dues revenue to BPL from the Life members. This could be a big problem in the future. Trading future revenue for present cash flow might not be a great idea.

I hope I'm not correct about this but with with the actions of R.J. regarding this site I think I may be correct in my view that MLIFE was nothing more than a means to get a large influx of capitol for BPL.


In addition with the current changes to the form and quality or articles I would expect to see a drop in membership if the fee went up beyond $25 annually.

Ole. You should know by now that BPL runs on it's own schedule, or RJ's schedule to be more precise.
