3 new uses for doggie po_p bags on 11/28/2011 19:51:15 MST Print View

Since the GF moved in with her dog, I've had a lot of "practice" handling doggie po_p bags...A LOT! :p

...and those little suckers are STRONG for their weight (don't even register on my gram scale).

So two uses I've come up with:

1) VBL "socks" that fit my size 11 feet...wish they came up a bit farther, but I think my gators will take care of anything getting in there. My question is, do I need to seal off the top with a rubber band or something to get the full VBL effect?

(yes those are dress pants & socks from work, plus gym sneakers...sorry I had an idea, I had to run with it. :p)

2) For Heiny or Foster can users....replaced my 6g rice cakes bag I used to house my sooty Heiny Keg Can pot, esbit cubes, etc.

(To be fair, I could of trimmed down the rice cakes bag, but the material is still thicker than the doggie bags.)

3) For Heiny or Foster can users practicing freezer bag cooking, who store cooking items inside their cans (who doesn't) such as matches, lighters, sooty/dirty pot stands, tealight cups...I'm sick of getting nasty stuff stuff inside my clean Heiny pot where I have to COOK. So that doggie po_p bag weighs "nothing" and can now line my pot to keep it clean.

Any other ideas? These bags are tough and don't even register on my scale!

If you're using them as vapor barrier liners (for cold weather outings), you need them on the inside of your socks, maybe with a thin liner underneath, so they can keep sweat out of the socks. As you've got them in the picture, they're more like a waterproof shoe liner.

Agreed, the dress socks in this case would = the syn liner socks. (Didn't have any midweight wool socks for insulation at the time of my "photoshoot.")

I would say that your shoes/gaiter combo would create enough of a seal to have a successful VB layer without fully sealing off the bags. It may even help reduce SOME condensation?

BTW-- Nice Lavers. I used to have the all-blue ones, and I wore those shoes 'til they fell apart. Cool-Points to you =)
