I'm looking for a good place in Oklahoma to take my family where we can backpack in to camp. All I can seem to find are places where you drive in to camp. We want to haul some gear and not look like dorks to all the cars passing by! Anybody know of some good places?

I've only heard of the Wichita Mountain Charon Garden's wilderness and the Quachita NF shared with Arkansas. Seen some trip reports of backpackers in the Wichita and they look nice in certain seasons.

Might want to move this to pre-trip planning to get some more answers.
