BPL Kit on 10/31/2011 16:48:24 MDT Print View

Hello All

So I was thinking about creating a UL kit based on BPL items. I will post one item per day if possible. Shelter Nano Tarp with BPL Stix poles, Nano Vapr Bivi, Torsolite/DIAD pad, UL 90 Quilt.

Feel free to add.

Thanks Jim

member items? on 10/31/2011 17:29:15 MDT Print View

Were you thinking member items? because some items from Jamie Shortt or Mr. Goat would make it have a real identity (And one of those ridged fosters cans. So excited about that :P)

and couple that Merino Hoody with a BPL Cocoon Pullover.... 9-10oz of awesome synthetic warmth. I love mine.

We can also add in the titanium trapper mug, and the Vapr Bivy to complement your posted tarp Jim

I bought some BPL produced items second hand or on steep clearance, and have really come to appreciate their quality, simplicity, and efficiency. Yes, there seems to have been a few duds out there (namely the thorofare shirts, though their pants seem to have developed somewhat of a following)

It's a real shame that they are mere relics today. They were always just so unaffordable, unless you got them 2nd hand or through a gambler's sale.

I'm glad to see that Peter V has continued the produce the BPL headnet, and at a great price at that. We loved ours on the JMT this season.

One truly could assemble a high-tech UL kit strictly using BPL's past offerings.
