my living on 10/28/2011 11:35:12 MDT Print View

I'm self-employed as the owner of a graphic design/media company. I design websites and other graphic materials for clients but also own On the side I write, as many of you know, wilderness cookbooks for backpackers and paddlers.

I work from home these days because that gives me the greatest flexibility between career and motherhood.

PS My husband is a Technical Service Engineer in the aerospace and automotive sectors. Geek.

My profession on 10/28/2011 23:15:58 MDT Print View

I supply an indigent urban population with delicious liquid coping skills.
Surprisingly, this is not as fulfilling of a career as it sounds. So I also pursue a degree in Philosophy and Linguistics.

US Forest Service - Forest Inventory and Analysis

I bushwhack around in the woods and measure trees...mostly in Alaska while toting a loaded 12 gauge. I can say that I get paid to backpack from time to time, although it is typically not where you would go for fun... nonetheless, no complaints. I am quite amazed at the variety of occupations here actually.

I guess I'll add to the chorus. I'm a network/telecom engineer. I also write music on the side. Here's a link if anyone's interested:

Ooo and I'm a huge wine fan. I remember reading that one of you worked in the wine industry. We'll have to arrange something there ;)
