Let me be clear. This isn't intended to be a flame thread. Most of us have already voiced our opinions.

I'm simply curious as to how many of you have clicked on the ads with a genuine interest and/or intent on checking the stuff out.

None here either. And funny, I don't notice them much now as at first.

I don't notice them as much, but I do... it is what is, seems a little underhanded to force ads on paid subscribers... but what can I do?

NOTHING! just vent when I see these treads lol :)

I still think this is an awesome community, which is why I'm still here, lifer or not...

The forums are free. Your membership money pays for the content of the "magazine".

Zero here, too. Although I was tempted to see what was going on when they listed "Six Moon Designs."

I clicked on one out of curiosity- it's like a google shopper for equipment and took me to familiar sites like Moosejaw and Altrec. Didn't buy anything but was curious because I had never heard of Gearbuyer. Apparently all of the posters so far have much more self control than I do :)

I've clicked on 1 or 2 ads just to see what a mentioned item would cost. I don't think the ads are as intrusive as the much larger graphic ads we see on other sites. I do think they can be helpful if you are shopping and want to find out more specs on a mentioned piece of gear. The ads as they are now do not take any more space than the nav bar and copyright notice at the bottom of the page. It might be nice to have an option for paid members to turn off the ads.

I have clicked on quite a few out of curiosity. SMD is advertised with some great gear. I personally do not find these very small ads no issue at all. Everybody involved in a business needs to pay rent or a mortgage. It all about making a profit to keep your business a float.

I have not clicked on any. Mostly, I already know where I want to buy a piece of gear from.

Maybe it would be cool if the adds gave you a link to items in gearswap also.

All in all, they don't bother me. If it brings in some revenew to BPL, great.
