Five days hiking and canyoneering in Zion National Park, Utah on 09/24/2011 22:35:15 MDT Print View

Some pics from my trip this summer. Canyoneering is hiking and climbing and caving and rappelling combined. You haven't really seen Zion until you've got into your harness and wetsuit and dropped into a deep slot canyon! More photos and a trip report on my site

The Virgin River has carved Zion Canyon

The chockstone adds a unique touch to this 75 foot rappel in Birch Hollow.

Climbing in to Keyhole Canyon

The final 100 footer at Pine Creek canyon.

Hiking the Left Fork of North Creek.Much of the hike is in the creek bed itself, made easier with special canyoneering shoes.

Dropping into the Subway

The first rap into Behunin Canyon. Once down, there's only one way out!
