Since the bag is in town, naturally I went to check it out. It's a LineLite bag. I told the seller that I wasn't interested but offered to post photos here to clear things up. You can see in one of the photos (sorry, used my phone) that one of the velcro tabs to form the suspenders is torn off. the other end is tearing a little.

I wasn't aware of this bag design, so if you're like me then check out this old post for a better photo: http://www.backpackinglight.com/cgi-bin/backpackinglight/forums/thread_display.html?forum_thread_id=16638

Here is a description on trailspace.com

From Moosejaw:
"To provide our customers with the best sleeping bags possible Western Mountaineering sleeping bags are hand made to order in San Jose, California. Order one today and it will ship in two weeks. It is worth the wait! When you need to extend the range of your sleeping bag system, play it safe and carry our 14 ounce LineLite liner. This mummy-cut, box stitched, sewn-thru liner has no foot box or hood to compete with the available space inside your sleeping bag. This design prevents excessive down compression. Both the top and bottom sections are open and use a bungie cord to snug up. The top is cut with side slits so that you can pull your arms out. And since the foot section is open, the velcro closures at the top act as suspenders so you can wear the LineLite and walk about camp. When you're ready to retire use the bungie cord at the foot to close up the bottom. The LineLite would add 10 Degrees or more depending upon the bag it is going into. Available in a 6'3in. length only. Sewn-Thru Box Construction 2 1/2in. Loft, 45 Degrees F 60in./38in. Shoulder/Foot Girth 7 oz. Down Fill Bungie Neck Closure 14 oz. Total Weight Adds about 15 Degrees F as a liner. Specs: Shape: Mummy Size: 6'3” Rating: 45 deg F Loft: 2.5” Inside Girth shoulder / hip / foot: 60”/52”/38” Fill Wt.: 7 oz Total Wt.: 14 oz Stuff Size: 6 x 10"

How do you think that would effect performance on 09/10/2011 21:53:39 MDT Print View

Is it something that could easily be sewn on and fixed? Any smells, or anything else funky. For the money it doesn't look too bad, but I didn't see it in person. Should I stay away?
