Rab Quantum 250 - WOW on 08/19/2011 19:11:07 MDT Print View

I bought a Rab Quantum 250 on steepandcheap for $99.00 free shipping.

I wasn't expecting much for an easy $99 but I am very impressed. I've spent all late spring and summer in my Western Mountaineering Caribu MF which was triple the price at nearly $300.

For a side by side comparison, the RAB feels and appears to have slightly better fabric. In addition, the RAB construction is simple and spot on less the half-zip. I'm actually super impressed with the bag and dumbfounded why others have not bought or given this bag rave reviews for the cost. What a super bag and I'm buying another winter rated bag as soon as I find a similar deal.

I've got a Summit Alpine 500 15*F myself. Since I've stumbled on the Rab leftovers being sold by Backcountry I also became big fan of RAB.

How cold have you had the 500 RAB? I've been looking for a good fall/winter bag and totally open to suggestions. I have been kicking around the idea of a Velandre or Marmot Plasma 15. However, the two I have my eye are are sooo costly so a well recommended RAB winter bag may be just as well.

I just got one recently and haven't taken it out to the trail yet... will probably test it this fall when it cools a little. Got 2 30*F bags for now...
