After the bashing POE got last month, I thought I'd chime in and share my recent (positive) warranty experience with them (this is over the past week). I don't expect to change many people's minds after the posts the CEO made and the reaction from the community, but I think it's worth it to share my experience...
I had a POE AO-Mountain (precursor to the Peak Oyl Mountain) that I bought about a year ago. It saw 6-10 nights and sprung a slow leak (had to re-inflate 2-3 times/night). Could not find the leak to save my life...submerged in the tub, sprayed with soapy water, etc...
Contacted POE, got RMA number, returned the pad. They contacted me, let me know they were considering it a warranty replacement, and would either a)replace it with the Peak Oyl Mountain (which is currently on backorder), or b) apply the cost for credit on a new pad.
End result: I'm getting a new Peak Elite AC --AND-- they're allowing me the $20 difference in price between the old and new pads as credit against anything in their product line.
I never mentioned my awareness of the BPL thread, so I can only assume that what I got was their 'normal' customer treatment. I have no idea if this is a recent change in policy based on the BPL thread, but I'm certainly satisfied at this point.
