Looking for (narrow) alternatives to Saucony Xodus 2 or La Sportiva Raptor on 08/12/2011 02:49:51 MDT Print View

Hi Everyone,

I have narrow feet, and it's been really hard finding trail runners that fit me properly. The closest I've come are the Saucony Xodus 2 (which allows a little too much lateral motion of the front part of my foot in the toe box) and the La Sportiva (either toes come rather close to edge of shoe or, again, too much room at around the toe box). I'm coming from boots so these seem like a relatively easy transition in terms of weight, stability, etc. Can anyone recommend a similar alternative worth trying to see if the fit is better than either of these two shoes?

Thanks very much.

Anything from Inov8 built on their performance last. The Crosslite/leather/X Country series from Sportiva.

Hi David,

Thanks for your response. Yeah, I wanted to consider Inov-8, but it seems that most of the performance last shoes are quite minimalist and may represent an overly radical departure from my current leather boots. I tried either the cross lite or X country La Sportiva, and that was not a good fit. I have not tried the leather shoes. I was hoping for mesh which would dry out easily after stream crossings.

Thanks again.
